Job Description:POSITION SUMMARYThis position is responsible for management of the payroll and reporting functions including the support and maintenance of the HRIS, along with overseeing the benefit plan administration. Primarily, this position is accountable for ensuring accuracy and timeliness of the payroll processing, reporting of various related metrics to management and field locations and ensuring data integrity within all systems and reports. KEY CONTRIBUTIONS1. Payroll Administration: Oversee accurate payroll administration including preparation and input of data. Prepare and analyze required reporting including applicable year-end reports. Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws. Establish and update standard operating procedures as necessary. Oversee the timekeeping management system and support the field managers with effective utilization of the system including reporting. 2. HRIS Administration: Provide support and maintenance of the HRIS and serve as the primary point of contact regarding data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing and supporting system upgrades, testing or other technical projects as assigned. Maintain HRIS workflow processes and system administration. 3. Reporting: Write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools and assist in the development of the Cognos HR Dashboard. Responsible for ad hoc Cognos reporting requests, monthly operation reports, quarterly HRIS reports, and HR Metrics. Review and update reports during system enhancements. 4. Benefits Administration: Oversee the administration of employee benefit programs including group medical, dental, life and disability. Serve as the liaison for the company’s 401(k) retirement plan. Work directly with outside brokers and the VP of Human Resources to analyze benefit renewals and plan design decisions. Ensure compliance with all benefit policies and administer all Leaves of Absence programs. Maintain relationships with benefits vendors and coordinate benefit enrollment meetings.5. People Management: Responsible for interviewing, hiring, coaching and development of all assigned employees. Evaluate staff performance and take appropriate corrective action as needed to hold employees accountable. Motivate staff by setting goals, providing ongoing feedback, and rewwarding/recognizing employees.6. Compliance: Review quarterly and annual tax reports for accuracy. Research and correct errors. Responsible for compliance with all payroll/benefit audits, unemployment insurance and payroll tax laws.7. Self/Workload Management: Responsible for effective self/workload management. Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills. Promote collaboration and positive, professional work environment. Adhere and uphold all CSM Standard Operating Procedures. REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance or related field required. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Minimum of four years in a similar position in which most of the key contributions described above were performed independently. Must have above-average communication skills with a very high level of attention to detail, problem solving, organizational and time management skills. Previous experience using software reporting tools and human resources-related metrics.
