Roles: Mentoring Program Chair

POSITION PURPOSE:  To coordinate TCHRA programs that provides members with a resource allowing more experienced HR Professionals (Mentors) an opportunity to share their knowledge with less experienced HR professionals (Mentees) as well as an opportunity for both to network with other professionals in the HR community.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Appoint TCHRA members to assist Mentoring Program Chair on the Mentoring Program Committee.
  • Recruit and select TCHRA members to participate in the Mentoring Program
  • Assign potential mentors with a mentee by reviewing application and matching goals/interests.
  • Plan and coordinate Mentoring Program events to introduce mentors/mentees, review expectations of participants in the program and provide education to further develop mentoring skills
  • Respond to questions/comments received regarding the Mentoring Program.
  • Follow  up with mentors and mentees periodically to monitor the value TCHRA members are getting from the program as well as to ensure both parties are fulfilling their responsibilities.

TERM:  The Mentoring Program Chair serves a one-year term.  This position requires up to 4 hours of volunteer time monthly.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:  Reports to the Vice President Member Resources.
