Roles: President

POSITION TITLE:  PRESIDENT

POSITION PURPOSE:  As the Chief Executive Officer of TCHRA, the President is responsible for the direction of the Association consistent with the role and mission of the organization and the strategic direction established by the Leadership Team and the Board of Directors.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • direct the Leadership Team and the Board of Directors of TCHRA
  • convene and chair regular meetings of the Board and Leadership Team
  • ensure that the goals and objectives of TCHRA are being carried out in a high quality, effective, and timely manner
  • direct the development and implementation of a strategic planning process for TCHRA to ensure that member interests are being met
  • supervise the affairs and business of TCHRA to ensure that the operations meet the appropriate legal guidelines and are consistent with the By-Laws
  • supervisor the management of the contract with the Administrative Services Provider to ensure that assignments are being completed in a high quality, effective, and timely manner
  • appoint all standing committee chairpersons and all special committees and task forces
  • work with the Nominating Committee to ensure that an appropriate succession plan is adopted
  • maintain liaison with the SHRM
  • ensure SHRM membership is fostered among TCHRA membership
  • promulgate SHRM programs and services
  • sustain a “Total Quality Management” philosophy within the chapter
  • ensure a budget is prepared and that the chapter affairs are conducted within the provisions of the budget
  • ensure that the TCHRA application for the SHRM Superior Merit Award is processed
  • serve as the primary spokesperson for TCHRA
  • seek opportunities for involvement with other professional organizations serving the human resources profession
  • seek to expand positive opportunities for TCHRA involvement in the community
  • promote overall excellence in the Twin Cities Human Resource Association

TERM:  The President serves a two-year term.  This position requires up to 25 hours of volunteer time monthly.
