Roles: Vice President - Communications
POSITION TITLE: Vice President of Communications
POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for the management of all communication programs of TCHRA. Implement communication strategies in a manner, which effectively communicates TCHRA activities and Human Resource issues to TCHRA members and the local community.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as a member of the TCHRA Board of Directors.

Participate in policy formulation and decision making of TCHRA.

Participate in the strategic planning process of TCHRA.

Develop and implement Communications Committee goals and objectives, which are consistent with the role and mission of the organization.

Recruit, lead, and manage the Communication Committee comprised of the Website Team, Newsletter Team, and Advertising. Team Leads report directly to the VP of Communications.

Ensure that objectives and action plans are developed by the Communications Committee for the purpose of generating ideas, reporting progress, solving problems and promoting communication.

Develop a budget for the Communication Committee and obtain approval from the Board of Directors.

Ensure that expenditures are made in a manner consistent with organizational guidelines and within established budgetary limitations.

Manage the Communications function to meet program objectives established by the Board of Directors.

Evaluate membership communication needs and formulate an action plan to meet these needs.

Develop and implement a message strategy and format. Ensure consistency of all TCHRA communication efforts program objectives established by the Board of Directors.

Publish a newsletter for the membership on a bi-monthly basis.

Publish a program notices on the TCHRA website.

Maintain the information communicated through the TCHRA website.

Maintain the online membership/networking directory on a continual basis.

Develop a network of advertisers interested in advertising on TCHRAs website and newsletter.

Develop and publish special communication pieces to support the goals and objectives of TCHRA.

Manage special projects as assigned.
TERM: Nominated by the TCHRA President and elected by the TCHRA membership for a two-year term. This position requires approximately ten (10) to fifteen (15) hours monthly for newsletter, website, and advertising development, meetings with the communications team, and bi-monthly Board Meetings.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: The VP of Communications reports to the President of TCHRA.
