Roles: Vice President - Finance & Administration
POSITION TITLE: Finance and Administration
POSITION PURPOSE: As the Vice President of Finance and Administration of TCHRA, the individual is responsible for prudent and responsible oversight of the finances and financial matters and status of the Association, and ethical behavior within the association membership consistent with the role and mission of the organization and the strategic direction established by the Leadership Team and the Board of Directors. The position also provides general administrative support and guidance, at an organizational entity level, working with the Board of Directors.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee, monitor and report on the financial condition and status of the organization, and identify and communicate any issues or trends of significance in a timely matter to the Board

Interact with the Association management firm and its administrative and accounting/finance personnel, to ensure the preparation and timely delivery of accurate and useful financial reporting; this includes annual budget preparation and ongoing reporting of performance to budget/plan

Ensure that the goals and objectives of TCHRA are being carried out in a high quality, effective, and timely manner

Identify and summarize the ongoing general financial condition of the organization, trends, and issues material to the financial health of TCHRA on a short term and a long term basis

Oversee the financial affairs and business of TCHRA to ensure that the operations meet the appropriate legal guidelines and are consistent with the By-Laws

Ensure that appropriate outside firms that specialize in financial matters are utilized in a cost effective manner, and are consulted on matters of relevance, and confirm that TCHRA is in good standing from a legal and financial standards perspective; this includes audit and tax, as well as other firms with expertise as needed

Review and resolve ethical issues that arise within the organization

Act as primary signatory for checks for expenditures submitted, within established TCHRA policies and procedures

Provides general administrative guidance and performs special analysis and projects on behalf of the Board and TCHRA, as needed

Ensure SHRM membership is fostered among TCHRA membership

Promulgate SHRM programs and services

Seek to expand positive opportunities for TCHRA involvement in the community, where identified

Promote overall excellence in the Twin Cities Human Resource Association
TERM: The Vice President, Finance and Administration serves on a two-year term basis. The position requires approximately 10 hours per month.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports directly to the President of TCHRA, and to the Board at large.
